Vintage 1940s Bag in Alligator Tile Basket/Picnic Style

Rare and unusual handbag that sits on a felt bottom. Exterior on both sides is a grid of alligator leather in large squares. Handstrap matches this and is framed with lucite (maybe bakelite?) trim. Closes with a zipper across the top. Interior is one compartment lined in dark green satin. No labels.
